Kachemak Women’s Nordic (KWN) was founded as Homer Women’s Nordic in 2007. Kachemak Women’s Nordic is a program of the Kachemak Nordic Ski Club. KWN promotes women’s Nordic by providing technique instruction, coordinating training programs for competitive and recreational female skiers, and by providing opportunities for ski coach development. All of this is done in a safe, fun, and supportive environment.
In order to join Kachemak Women’s Nordic, first become a member of KNSC and then you will be able to register for KWN through KNSC’s online registration. You must be a member of both to view the weekly workout schedules after the registration deadline each winter.
All of the coaching is done by volunteers and the depth of knowledge that they share about both the sport of skiing and training in general is fantastic. We are grateful for their many hours of contribution as well as for all the efforts of KNSC, its groomers and volunteers for our amazing ski trails.
Some women use this program to prepare for serious ski racing and others will never race and instead simply enjoy the company, mid-day sunshine and increased fitness! Some people are able to come to practice every time it meets, and some people come to practice twice a month.
We communicate through email as well as our private Facebook group. Please request to join our Facebook group and join the fun!
Cost is $150 for the season weekdays and weekends.
New for the 2018/2019 Season we are offering KWN weekends only for $100. Weekend only participants are also welcome at all KWN social events and group waxing opportunities as they are scheduled.
